I have been crafting since I was a little girl! I love to be creative! I eventually focused on jewelry design as I had a fascination for handcrafted jewelry. I thought, "How great it would be to design jewelry to match every outfit"! I decided to use my skill of jewelry making, and ventured into starting my own business - Jacqui's Jewelry Boutique. I took various business and jewelry designing classes, to learn how to run my business and perfect my skills. Though I am busy designing, I still continue to take classes to obtain new ideas and new techniques. In between jewelry making, I write informative articles offering business tips and sharing what I've learned while building my handcrafted jewelry business. I've authored articles for Ezine Articles, jewelry business sites and blogs and I am currently writing a book/Ebook. My designs are available in shops/boutiques, at jewelry/trade shows and online. I have partnered with Johnny Angel Gift Shop on Rt. 15 in Lafayette, NJ at which my handcrafted jewelry designs are available for purchase, along with jewelry making classes. I instruct various jewelry classes on a monthly basis.
I decided on a boutique style business, as I wanted to be able to have a variety of items to choose from, including handcrafted jewelry, designer inspired fashion jewelry, handbags , etc. My main objective was to make my items affordable to the everyday person, especially the handcrafted jewelry. Jewelry can be handcrafted, beautiful, one-of-a kind and AFFORDABLE! I design and make all of my handcrafted jewelry myself. It is a lot of work, but I know I would be extremely critical of anyone who helped me, as I am very particular about how each piece has to be made! I am my own worst critic!
I began designing awareness jewelry in memory of my mom, who passed away August 2007 while battling lung cancer. My mom supported me 100% in my business, and never had a doubt that I would succeed with it. She would wear the carnelian, pearl and crystal bracelet ( gemstone meanings: carnelian-general healing stone, pearl- protective stone, aids in lung disorders, clear crystal-lung cancer), that I made for her, every time she had a chemotherapy treatment. It means a lot to me to help raise awareness for all types of cancer, and donate a portion of the proceeds to the American Cancer Society. My crystal awareness bracelets have become my most popular pieces. It makes me feel good designing jewelry for this cause. It's close to my heart and so is mom. :-)
